Legend of the Jewish Cemetery at Leek.

Here, at Leek, there are buried 98 persons, but there are only 88 tombstones.
Among them is just one remembrance-stone (marked at the number with: hs), and there are a few stones for couples.

At this cemetery the numbering starts with 20, belonging to Leek (see map of the province).
The numbering of the tombstones - first the row and last the resting-place- starts at the right- and frontside, seen from the entrance; so one can directly see where a certain stone is.

In the rows 2, 3 and 6 the board members of the synagoge and societies with their family are buried.
This is not shown on the map with colours, but it concerns 200204 to 200219, 200319 to 200336 and 200627 to 200636.

The Roman numerals I, II, III and IV show, in which order the burial grounds are acquired (see intro).
